The Faculty Resource Center supports faculty use of instructional technology. Whether faculty are exploring instructional technology tools for the first time or have extensive experience, the Faculty Resource Center can help. The FRC offers workshops and online tutorials about eLearning and other instructional technology tools, including moving materials from WebCT to eLearning. FRC staff consult with individual faculty members and conduct specialized workshops for departments or programs. Support is available for eLearning, as well as other instructional technology tools, from at 348-3532 or eLearning@ua.edu. To explore the current workshop offerings or to register for a workshop, click here. Tutorials are available here.
The FRC helps faculty explore emerging instructional technology tools. Faculty can contact the FRC to participate in the Faculty Idea Exchange, an online forum to discuss issues and ideas related to teaching with technology. A consultation space for individual assistance and a workstation with an OCR scanner and specialized software is available in Gordon Palmer A203. To make an appointment for an individual consultation, schedule a departmental workshop, join the Faculty Idea Exchange or receive more information about instructional technology tools, please contact Dr. Rachel Shuttlesworth (rshuttle@frc.ua.edu, 348-0216) or Dr. Marilyn Staffo (mstaffo@frc.ua.edu, 348-4484).
