Turnitin provides tools for text similarity detection, grading, and peer review. It helps deter and prevent plagiarism by checking student-submitted work against a variety of sources including student papers, web content, and journals and publications.

Turnitin checks student work against an online database and generates a report showing text matches and other data. Turnitin also provides instructors with an assortment of grading tools including rubrics, voice comments, and the ability to grade papers via mobile application.

Grades entered in Turnitin are automatically entered in the Blackboard grade center. You can also use Turnitin to allow students to conduct peer reviews of papers submitted by classmates.
