The Faculty Resource Center
The Faculty Resource Center provides faculty development and support for UA’s campus-wide instructional technologies to enhance teaching and learning
As a unit of The Office of Information Technology, The Faculty Resource Center provides individual and group instruction, scheduled workshops, tutorials, and troubleshooting support for UA’s instructional technologies. Instructional technologies are online resources for teaching and learning which offer discussion, assessment and feedback alongside delivery of content.
UA’s instructional technologies include Blackboard, Turning Technologies (Clickers/Mobile Responseware), Tegrity, Turnitin, Box, VoiceThread, People.ua.edu, and Blackboard Collaborate. Watch “What Can the FRC Do for Me?” to learn about the technologies we support.
We’re here to help.
- Our faculty development team meets with individuals and groups across campus to help them navigate the technology UA offers to supplement their classroom teaching.
- We provide workshops to address getting started and key features in each of our supported tools, as well as special topics.
- Our support team meets individually with instructors, from faculty to adjuncts and graduate students, to set up their courses. They also answer questions via email, phone, and our help portal.
- The FRC functional administration team keeps these tools running behind the scenes, and keeps them up to date when new features and fixes become available.
