Update Your Box Apps

Box is ending support for older versions of its apps as of November 12, 2018, due to security improvements. Box end users will need to update their apps (Box Sync, Box Drive & Box Edit) prior to that date to continue using them.

Box Drive for Windows Update

Box will be performing an update to the Box Drive for Windows application beginning June 19. Box Drive users should accept the Box Drive upgrade when prompted to do so. Previous versions may stop working by June 26, so please accept the update when you receive notification that it is available.  Contact the IT Service Desk with any questions 205-348-5555.

June 3-4 – Blackboard Collaborate Maintenance (Updated)

Between the hours of 11 p.m. June 3 and 5 a.m. June 4, Blackboard, Inc. technicians will be performing maintenance on the data center that serves UA’s instance of Collaborate. During this window, users will potentially experience intermittent connectivity issues.

Safari and .docx files

Users who attempt to upload .docx files to Blackboard using Safari report receiving an error message stating that the file can’t be uploaded. A Blackboard Support ticket about this issue is being created. The workaround is to use Chrome or Firefox to upload .docx files.

Blackboard Update – May 9 – 11

UA’s instance of Blackboard will be updated starting at 8:30 p.m. May 9. The update is scheduled to be completed by noon May 11. During the update window Blackboard will be unavailable.
